The Gill Institute for Neuroscience is delighted to invite faculty, students, clinicians, scientists, and members of the biomedical community to attend the 2026 Gill Symposium on Incretin Biology at the Center of Obesity and Related Disease Management.

This year's symposium brings together an extraordinary group of internationally recognized scientific leaders whose discoveries have fundamentally transformed our understanding and treatment of obesity, diabetes, and metabolic disease. Collectively, their pioneering work has established much of the biological and pharmacological foundation for today's incretin-based therapies, ushering in one of the most significant advances in modern medicine.

The symposium will honor the recipients of the 2026 Gill Award:

The symposium will conclude with a special keynote presentation by Richard D. DiMarchi, Ph.D., Gill Chair in Biomolecular Sciences at Indiana University, who will reflect on the remarkable journey from fundamental discovery to transformative peptide medicines and share his vision for the future of metabolic therapeutics.

For more than 20 years, the Gill Institute has awarded prominent scientists and investigators for their unique and significant contributions to neuroscience. Additional awards have been given throughout the years for outstanding scientific images and Life Sciences graduate students.
