Biography

Dr. Espinas is an Assistant Scientist in the Lu Lab at the Gill Institute for Neuroscience. He obtained his Master's degree from the University of Tokyo and his PhD in Plant Epigenetics from the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) in Japan. In 2021, he joined Petr Broz's laboratory at the University of Lausanne to investigate the SARM1-dependent cell death pathway. At the Lu laboratory, he will continue his investigations on SARM1 in neurons and glial cells. His main research focus is eukaryotic innate immunity and cell death.
