Biography

Dr. Zhang is a Research Scientist in the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University Bloomington. He holds a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College/Tsinhua University. Dr. Zhang joined Indiana University Bloomington and Professor Richard Dimarchi's lab in 2013. diseases, such as diabetes and obesity. He has made seminal contributions to several target peptides, most notably to include the discovery of IGF-1 antagonists starting from viral sources, and a PTH drug candidate that possesses sustained pharmacology made possible by novel prodrug chemistry that is now in Phase 2 clinical study.
