Biography

Dr. Prokop is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Mackie Lab at the Gill Institute for Neuroscience and a recipient of the Human Frontiers Science Program Postdoctoral Fellowship. She earned her M.D. and Ph.D. from Semmelweis University in Hungary. Her interest in G protein-coupled receptors and their pharmacological regulation began during her undergraduate studies and has remained a central theme of her research. Her Ph.D. work focused on developing high-resolution microscopy techniques to detect drug binding to receptors. Her primary research interest lies in neuropsychiatric disorders, with a recent focus on exploring underutilized brain regions as potential therapeutic targets for affective and psychotic disorders.
