Dr. Kalinovsky is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Indiana University Bloomington. Her research is collaboratively part of the Gill Institute for Neuroscience. She earned her Ph.D. in Cellular, Molecular, Structural, and Genetic Studies at Columbia University and she was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Developmental Neuroscience at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The overarching goal of her research is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms governing the development of cerebellar circuits and associated behaviors. The current focus of Anna's group is on the mechanisms of cerebellar development that are regulated by cannabinoid signaling. They utilize genetic and pharmacological manipulations in mouse models to study these questions. By integrating molecular, cellular, anatomical, and behavioral approaches, her research group strives to elucidate the mechanisms by which the cerebellum modulates a range of behaviors, from motor to social, in both healthy and pathological contexts.
